Hello and welcome to the newly established Bee Que Press. I express my gratitude for your presence here. I have great news to share. I determined a method to ensure that all posts are directed to their respective pages. This was achieved by utilizing the Standifird-Huffman surname alongside my first name, Sara. The journey to this point has been significant. I am sincerely thankful to those of you who have remained supportive throughout this endeavor. This blog has undergone many changes. These include theme alterations and name revisions. I know I have presented you with unexpected changes on several occasions. For this, I accept full responsibility and appreciate your understanding.
It is this new chapter in life that marks my growth. The cherry blossoms bring an enchanting whimsy while maintaining a mature touch. This is still Bee Que Press, though it has evolved with some exciting changes. The Meadow serves as your homepage, while the Bibliography features journals and newsletters. Pollen & Prose is where you will discover captivating stories. I’m still navigating how to incorporate the storefront into this site. I know it will be a significant learning curve. Being in my 40s, I have grown emotionally, embracing my true self more authentically. I’ve realized that I no longer need to chase after others’ interpretations. I once thought that was the only way to belong.
I remember a time when I struggled to understand who I truly was and what I represented. The longing to belong and fit in consumed me. It led me to morph into versions of myself that I thought would please others. This often made me feel like a fool. From embracing the F.A.F.O. vibe to exploring Gothic aesthetics, I changed my name too many times to count. In my search for validation, I discovered I didn’t connect with others. Instead, I became increasingly invisible. I was lost in the desire to be seen. Always on the quest to find my voice. It felt like trying to shout in the loudest of places, like a rock concert! Desperation was practically tattooed on my forehead, and apparently, everyone had a front-row seat to that show. Now that I reflect on it, I can’t help but cringe. It’s like I was cast in a reality show called “Desperate for Identity!” I felt like I had to constantly repackage myself. It was like being an overzealous product at a clearance sale. Let’s be honest, I had no clue who I was or what I was selling.
I do not yet have complete clarity. Maturity involves taking the time to reflect. It also means recognizing when something is not working. I should focus more on embracing my true self. I should avoid imposing identities that do not align with who I am. I am a writer and a blogger, and I confidently wear a green corset dress. As an earth witch, I choose to live life spontaneously. I avoid engaging in politics, as it induces anxiety in me. No side is entirely good, nor entirely bad. The current circumstances are indeed troubling, but I prefer to direct my energy toward productive outlets. This means investing it in my writing, my blogs, and my personal growth. Is this selfish? Yes. Do I care? No.
I’m excited to share that I’m on Tick Tock too! Look for Rose Marie Skye and give me a follow! I’ll be posting daily videos where I enjoy ‘Forest Bathing’ or Shinrin-Yoku in the same dress, and I can’t wait for you to join me on this beautiful journey! Yes, it’s in my backyard, and yes, I’m planning on rocking that dress like it’s my new uniform! So, let’s just get over ourselves—I’m definitely squeezing every penny out of that fabulous frock! Who knew my backyard would become the hottest runway in town?
You will observe a progression of transformations resulting from ‘Forest Bathing,’ a term I encountered in Netflix’s show, Virgin River. Although my knowledge on this subject is limited, it entails immersing oneself in nature without any electronic devices. This practice, also referred to as Shinrin-Yoku, represents an alternative form of meditation. It is imperative to approach this experience with mindfulness and conduct thorough research, as certain aspects may be intertwined with religious beliefs.
And always seek professional medical assistance before undertaking any such actions.
